 Ballou Band Prepares to March in the Inaugural Parade Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 After a year of bad news, including a school shooting and a mercury spill, Ballou Sr. High School in Southeast Washington has recently been making headlines of a different kind. In November, the Ballou Knights Marching Band took second place in the Home Depot national battle of the bands in Carson, Calif. And in December, the band was honored with a coveted spot in the 55th inaugural parade. In the days before the parade, the band is excited but still needs practice.
