Protesters hit the K Street corridor and Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., Sunday morning, vowing to disrupt the spring meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. Workers, environmentalists and students were among those in the crowds, including demonstrator Melinda Thompson, who said her group's mission was to shut business down, and Elijah, a protester from Chicago who said he opposed the way the World Bank treated people only as consumers.
