Bonfire of the 1040s
Wednesday, April 18, 2001 Executive director of DC Vote Amy Whitcomb Slemmer and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Roger Wilkins speak Mon., Apr. 16 on the issue of taxation without representation at the Tax Day Protest in Upper Senate Park. About 50 attendees gave brief speeches before throwing their federal tax forms into a symbolic fire. Go-Go legend Chuck Brown and his band opened and closed the rally.
