Painted Pandas Go Public Thursday, May. 6, 2004; 6:02 PM Take a peek into the creative process that is bringing a colorful array of pandas to the streets of Washington. The D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities selected 150 artists to paint panda statues for its "PandaMania" project, which kicks off May 10 at the National Zoo. The pandas are scheduled to begin appearing throughout the District on May 15 and will be on display through September.
