In the last twenty years more than 20,000 refugees have emigrated from Southeast Asia to Oakland, California. Today, many of these first generation immigrants are living on the fringe of society, partially because they lack language skills, but also because it's been so hard for them to adjust to life in America. This video explores how Nguyen Tran, a 36 year-old social worker, has dedicated her life to helping Oakland's immigrant community.
