President Bush Delivers State of the Union Address Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005; 9:23 PM
President Bush in his 2005 State of the Union address called for a historic restructuring of Social Security that would allow younger workers for the first time to invest some of their payroll taxes in the stock market, declaring that without change the venerable program is headed toward bankruptcy. He also used much of his 53-minute speech to talk about "the ultimate goal of ending tyranny in our world."
