Tikrit Murals, Loyalty Intact
Tuesday, April 15, 2003; 4:22 PM

In Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit, the former president's murals are on every street corner and lamp post. Known as the most pro-Saddam town, Tikrit fell to U.S. Marines on Monday. People in Tikrit say they are still loyal to Saddam, though many question his rule privately.

Interviews with a man from Tikrit who wished to remain anonymous; U.S. Marine Corporal Corntey Davis; Thamer Ahmed; and Ahmed Khatabomer.
