Vatican Celebrates New Pope

White smoke puffed out of the Sistine Chapel chimney and bells rang loudly Tuesday afternoon, signaling that the College of Cardinals had selected a new pope. German Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, 78, chose the name Benedict XVI and addressed the throng of supporters that gathered at St. Peter's Square.
