Milk and Money
Nixon and H.R. Haldeman
March 23, 1971

The president and Haldeman are discussing a plan to increase the price of milk in exchange for campaign contributions from various milk producer associations. Originally, the Department of Agriculture recommended a smaller increase in the parity level. The milk producers contributed more than $1 million to the president's re-election campaign and the President then allowed a higher parity level for milk and dairy products.

The "milk fund" investigation was part of the Senate Select Committee on Campaign Activities charter.
