Olympic Bombing Video Clip

This video clip of the bomb blast interrupting a German TV interview of swimmer Janet Evans is in AVI, Video for Windows format.

To use this clip, if you are on a computer with the Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 operating systems:

  • Click on the clip.
  • When the Netscape dialog box pops up, click on the button "Pick App."
  • In the box that asks you for a filename, type C:\WINDOWS\MPLAYER.EXE or the location of your Windows Media Player accessory, if it is different.
  • Press OK. The Media Player will pop up, and you can press the VCR-style 'play' button to play this, and all other AVI clips you find on the Web.

To use this clip, if you are on a Macintosh computer:

  • To see AVI movies on the Macintosh, you must be using Netscape 2.0 or higher and have QuickTime installed in your System Extensions folder and an AVI plug-in installed in your Netscape Plugins folder.
  • We do not support any particular Netscape plug-ins, but you may want to try MacZilla. Follow the installation instructions on the MacZilla site.
  • Once MacZilla is installed, quit and reload Netscape. You will be able to play AVI movie clips by clicking on the links.
