GOP's Inauguration Day PainBy Al KamenWashington Post Staff Writer Wednesday, January 8 1997; Page A23 What with all the attention devoted to the Clinton inaugural bash, you'd think the Republicans were watching reruns of "Bedtime for Bonzo" or some Reagan inaugural addresses. Not so. the Republicans are planning to hold their own counter-inaugural ball, "Mourning in America II: Feel our Pain." The black-tie affair, to be held at The City Tavern Club in Georgetown on Inauguration Day, is a follow to the 1993 Republican gala, "Mourning in America: A Thousand Pints of Lite." This one is again hosted by the Jefferson Ale Club and the Victory 2000 Committee, two groups of young GOP activists. The organizers are calling it "The Most Optimistic Ball in America."
