Peace Church was located just south of the Demilitarized Zone, which divided North and South Vietnam. Four points – Con Thien, Gio Linh, Dong Ha and Can Lo – delineated the area known as "Leatherneck Square" for its concentration of U.S. Marines, or "Leathernecks." Khe Sanh, shown on the country map, is just southwest of the DMZ.
