Family gatherings are impromptu. Annual homecomings are more of a sure thing. Says Iree:
"We've had a homecoming out here at Mommy's [Iree's mother's] for the last 20 years. We tell the family from year to year what time to come. We don't call them. We just tell them at the homecoming when to all meet back here the next year. This year it will be on the 15th. Sometimes there's maybe 75 people; one time there was 115. They're all family. Homecomings been goin' back to long before I can remember."
