The NBA All-Star Weekend was off the hook. Period. At every event we went to, be it Platinum, Republic Gardens, or Zanzibar, people were dressed to the nines and having a good time. Click on the name of each party below to view a selection of photographs from that event.
After you have a look, go to our Nightlife message board and tell us which parties you went to, and read Lonnae O'Neal Parker's story about the All-Star party scene.
Friday Night
F Street Block Party: We have to admit we were dubious about this event. Close F Street? Run a heated tent between Platinum and D.C. Live and let people wander at will? Our bad. This was one of the highlights of the weekend, as people packed into both clubs and in the F Street tent, with its half-block-long bar and four-lane dance floor.
NBA All-Star Weekend Explosion: The line to get into Republic Gardens looked like a U Street Block Party. And when we finally got inside, we realized why: it was a fabulous party, with a huge heated tent, great music, and thousands of beautiful people getting their groove on.
Saturday Night
The HBO All-Star Night Out: Once again, the Gardens were jumpin', jumpin'. R. Kelly, Mad Lion and Nelly joined a host of ballers on stage, Biz Markie was on the wheels, and everyone danced, toasted and showed off their finest outfits.
NBA Legends Party: This party, hosted by radio personality Tom Joyner, filled Zanzibar on the Waterfront with contenders and players. In attendance: Charlie Wilson, Pru, Mo'Nique, Isiah Thomas, and hundreds of area partiers tricked out in style.
