Damage:

This view of Mir shows damage inflicted on a solar panel when an unmanned Russian resupply ship, Progress, collided with the space station on June 25, 1997. Two Russian cosmonauts and an American astronaut were almost forced to abandon the station after the mishap. The deterioration of the veteran craft would eventually force the Russian Space Agency to jettison it in 2001 after over 86,000 orbits.
