Home of a PresidentWe ventured by the boyhood home of Iranian President Mohammed Khatemi. As we searched through the maze of adobe-walled streets, we came upon Khatemi's niece Atoosa Mirabzadeh and a neighbor Haji Bibi Sakineh Tabatabaei. Tabatabaei proudly took us to her roof so we could get a glimpse of the president's former home. Of course they fed us tea and candy. The elder woman was quite intrigued with my blonde hair. "Why is your hair the color of mine? You are so young," she said as she ran her fingers on the edge of my scarf and hairline.
