The Welcome Dollar

American dollars were quite welcome in shops, especially in the tourist center of Isfahan. Iran is basically a cash-only country for Americans, though MasterCard issued from countries other than Israel and the United States may be used at banks and hotels. Ali Reza Baidi works in his father's bridal shop in one of Isfahan¹s markets. "American people and Iranian people like this," he gestures with his fingers interlocked. "I want more connection to America ... things would be much cheaper."
