Born of a Peruvian mother, he has traveled throughout the country seeking to capture its personal meaning for him as well as social realities. As Peru votes for a new president on June 3, his photographs evoke the diverse nation that seeks to restore democracy after the massive corruption charges that brought down former president Alberto Fujimori and powerful spy chief Vladimir Montesinos.
