Meiselas received her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and her M.A. in visual education from Harvard University. She joined Magnum Photos in 1976. She is the author of three monographs, the editor of four collections and the co-director of two films. Meiselas recently launched a Web site for collective memory and cultural exchange called aka Kurdistan, at www.akakurdistan.com.
