A cattle herder drives his kuri longhorns to the Chari River in southwestern Chad. The kuri with their distinctive lyre-shape horns are native to the Lake Chad region and prized as dairy cattle.

From 1969 to 1998, John Isaac worked for the United Nations and traveled to more than 100 countries. He has also photographed for UNICEF, working closely with Audrey Hepburn, Harry Belafonte and Liv Ullman. Among his numerous national and international awards is a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Photographic Council. He was the exclusive photographer of Michael Jackson's first baby, Prince, and has published several books.
