A photographer for more than 30 years, Stoddart has covered such major events as the fall of the Berlin Wall, the siege of Sarajevo and Nelson Mandela's election victory. Stoddart's work has received much acclaim and many international awards. His harrowing photographs from the famine in Sudan raised public awareness of the situation worldwide and many thousands of dollars for charity. Most recently Stoddart has been documenting the devastating effect of AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.
