Zaid Haroon, 21, the son of sugar magnate and commander of the Muslim League's National Guard, led a chant of "Free Kashmir" next to the Muslim League flag during a recruiting campaign in December 1947. India and Pakistan fought a war over the disputed territory in 1947-48 that left India in control of much of Kashmir.
