A Sterling man was charged this morning with murder in the death of his 24-year-old girlfriend, who was found dead yesterday in a Fair Oaks office building where they both worked.

Fairfax County police are searching for Jason A. Morant, 33, of 21800 Goldstone Terrace. An autopsy was performed this morning on the body of his girlfriend, Robin J. Kehrer, but police had not released its findings by noon.

Kehrer's body was found in the stairway of an office building in the 3900 block of Fair Ridge Drive about 10:30 a.m. yesterday. Police said she worked there as an information technology professional, and that Morant also worked there.

Police would not disclose a possible motive for the killing, but theorized yesterday that it may have been related to a domestic dispute.

Morant is described as a black male, 6 feet 1, weighing 240 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said he drives a two-door 1994 Honda with Virginia license plates ZHG-9907. Anyone with information about Morant may call Fairfax County police at 703-691-2131.
