Elections 2004: Washington Post Daily Tracking Poll Wednesday, October 6, 2004; 5 p.m. ET | | | | The Washington Post tracking poll will be conducted daily until Election Day. The latest tracking result represents the three-night average of data collected Oct. 3 - 5 among a randomly selected national sample of 1,805 adults, including 1,481 registered voters and 1,155 self-identified likely voters. The Post and ABC News collect data jointly but are responsible for developing their own methods to identify likely voters. This may produce slightly different estimates of candidate support. The margin of sampling error for results based on these three groups is plus or minus 3 percentage points, and slightly larger for subsamples. Sampling error is only one of many potential sources of error in this or any other public opinion poll. Interviewing was conducted by TNS Intersearch of Horsham, Pa. More on Poll Methodology *= less than 0.5 percent 1. How closely are you following the 2004 presidential race: very closely, somewhat closely, not too closely, or not closely at all?
