  •   About the Poll Taker

Compare your answers to Washington Post poll questions against results from the actual survey. Each week, selected questions from Post polls are featured in the Poll Taker. Select your response to see a bar graph illustrating the percentage of the total responses given in the actual poll. Your selection is displayed in red, but it is not recorded. This is not a survey of washingtonpost.com users.

On some questions, users with Netscape Navigator 3.0 and 4.0 can use a pull-down menu to see how different groups responded to the original survey question. For example, users can see how Democrats and Republicans, women and men, or senior citizens and teenagers respond differently to the same question.

Percentages displayed in Poll Taker may not add to 100 due to rounding. The margin of error for subsample populations is larger than the overall margin of error for each poll. The margin of error, sample size and other information on each poll is available in data pages linked from the Poll Taker responses.
