This Washington Post-ABC News poll was conducted by telephone December 6-9, 2007, among a random national sample of 1,136 adults, including additional interviews with randomly-selected African Americans, for a total of 205 black respondents. The results from the full survey have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points. It is four points for the sample of 610 Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independents, five points for the 409 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, five points for the 429 likely Democratic primary voters and six points for the 293 likely Republican primary voters. Sampling, data collection and tabulation by TNS of Horsham, Pa.
