Washington Post Poll: New Hampshire and the Nation

Tuesday, January 18, 2000

The latest Washington Post-ABC News polls are based on random telephone interviews conducted between January 13 and 16, 2000. The national survey was completed with 1,007 adults; the margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points. The New Hampshire survey was completed with 1,267 likely primary voters, including 534 likely Democratic voters and 733 likely Republican voters. The overall margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points; the margin of error for the two subgroups is plus or minus 4 percentage points. Interviewing was done by TNS Intersearch of Horsham, Pa.

Correction: TNS Intersearch, the research company that conducted telephone interviews for this survey, reports that a programming error resulted in faulty data in the "candidate qualities" section of the last national Post/ABC News poll on Dec. 15. The errors are large in some cases. Corrected data appear below, in the trend section under Q13 and q16.
