South Carolina and the Nation

The latest Washington Post-ABC News polls are based on random telephone interviews conducted February 3 - 6, 2000. The national survey was completed with 1,013 adults; the margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points. The South Carolina survey was completed with 751 South Carolina Republican primary voters, including 490 likely voters. South Carolina percentages shown below are based on the former, except where noted as LV. The margin of error for the full SC sample is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points; for LV it is plus or minus 4 percentage points.
