The latest Washington Post-ABC News poll is based on telephone interviews with 1,228 randomly selected adults nationwide conducted between July 20-23, 2000. The margin of error for results based on the total sample is plus or minus 3 percentage points. Interviewing was conducted by TNS Intersearch of Horsham, Pa.
