Statement by Clinton's Attorney By The Associated Press Wednesday, September 9, 1998; 5:25 p.m. EDT Statement by David Kendall, President Clinton's personal attorney, following Wednesday's delivery of the independent counsel's report to Congress. The president has apologized for his relationship with Miss Lewinsky and has asked for forgiveness. People should keep in mind that the documents delivered to Congress today represent only the prosecutor's allegations -- allegations that we have been denied a chance to review. But we do know this: There is no basis for impeachment. Thank you very much.
