This weekend, the Washington swing community is being treated to the biggest East-meets-West battle since Rocky Balboa fought Ivan Drago. Los Angeles's Bill Elliott Swing Orchestra and Washington's own Tom Cunningham Orchestra will meet for the first time at America Restaurant on Saturday, July 17, and the results should be nothing short of atomic.

Can't make it to the show on Saturday night? You can still help pick your favorite band. Click on the song titles to listen to sound clips of full-length songs from both bands. (You'll need a RealAudio player to hear them, which you can download from http://www.real.com.)

Which do you prefer – Elliott's smooth clarinet or Cunningham's red-hot trumpet? The lush vocal stylings of Bill's Lucky Stars, or Julian Hipkins's Joe Williams-style roar? Vote now!
