Grimly Reaping
A man in Cairo revived after being pronounced dead and spending 12 hours in a morgue refrigerator. As if that's not strange enough, the paramedic who discovered the walking cadaver dropped dead of a heart attack. Chilling.
A Life for a Lip
A three-year-old girl in Scotland has had her lip sewn back on after it was bitten off by a dog. In further strangeness, the dog has swallowed the lip so they euthanized the dog, recovered the lip and sewed it back on the child. Yes, It's True.
Hot Pants
A Virginia bank robber got a surprise when he stuffed the loot -- with an explosive dye pack -- in his pants. Witnesses say he left the bank, flailed around, stripped down to his boxers and fled. Seen anyone with an icepack in his lap?
Legal Drugs
As if we don't already have enough opportunity to ingest caffeine, now they're putting it in orange juice. Made from concentrate, Juiced has about the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee. Just one more way we can all get juiced.
Mustering the Mustard
The championship belt for hot dog eating has gone for the second year in a row to a Japanese man. The two-time, 135-pound winner ate 24 1/2 hot dogs in 12 minutes.
One Man's Trash ...
A Midwestern man has an unusual hobby: collecting firecracker wrappers. He has 50 years' worth of wrappers now valued at $15,000. Wonder who would buy them?
Once a Knight
Chivalry appears to be alive and well -- if not politically correct -- in North Carolina. A chap there donned a knight's armor and rode up on a white horse to propose to his girl. She was so moved she dropped her beer.
These Changing Times
South Korea has revoked a 689-year-old law that prevented couples with the same surname from marrying. An estimated 60,000 couples have been skirting the law and can now legally tie the knot.
Last week's Yes, It's True.
