An analysis of 139 publicly traded companies in the D.C. region showed stock prices grew an average of 16.6 percent between Dec. 31 and June 28, according to data from Bloomberg News. By comparison, Standard & Poor's 500-stock index gained 12.6 percent in that period. Here's how stock prices changed by industry. Lines indicate the six-month change in prices. Read related article.
Stocks at FBR & Co., Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac increased more than 400%.
Radio One's stocks increased 244%.
Stocks went up at every public government contractor based in D.C.
