Officer Darren Wilson stated in his grand jury testimony that Michael Brown ran at him while reaching into his waistband, a statement many have seen as a justification for Wilson’s use of lethal force against the teenager, who was not armed. Yet, among the people who witnessed the fatal shooting, descriptions of Brown’s movements ranged from a full charge toward the officer to a move to surrender. Read excerpts of their testimony below.
