New king of Washington sports

More than a decade after purchasing the Capitals and the right to succeed late Washington sports icon Abe Pollin, Ted Leonsis has purchased the Wizards, Verizon Center and the rest of Pollin's Washington Sports & Entertainment empire.

The Abe Pollin family has reached a deal with Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis to sell him the family's share of the Washington Wizards and Verizon Center, the family said today in a statement.
