HOW TO ENTER:  No purchase necessary.  Bowl Blitz: College Football Challenge Contest

 (“Bowl Blitz”) generally runs from 5:01 P.M (Eastern Time) on December 13, 2006 through 8:00 P.M (Eastern Time) on January 8, 2007 (the “Eligibility Period”). 

 

* Please note that Bowl Blitz game selections may be made at any time during the Eligibility Period but your picks will only apply to games that have not yet started.

 

You may enter by registering at http://projects.washingtonpost.com/bowlblitz. Both your e-mail address and telephone number are required for prize validation.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY: This contest is open only to legal residents of the United States, 18 years of age or older at time of entry. Entrants must have Internet access as of December 13, 2006. Employees and their immediate families, including household members, of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, The Washington Post and other sponsors (collectively, the “Sponsors"), and their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible.

 

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: You must be the registered subscriber of the valid e-mail account by which the entry is made prior to December 13, 2006.  

 

§                        To play, create your list of college football bowl game winners from our list of bowl games.

§                        Bowl Blitz game selections may be made at any time during the Eligibility Period but your picks will only apply to games that have not yet started.

§                        For each correct bowl game winner selected, you will be awarded 100 points.

§                        The winners will be decided by those entries with the highest point total after the BCS Championship Game on January 8, 2007.

§                        Tie-Breaker: Should there be multiple winning entries a random pick of all winning entries will be used to award the prizes.

 

Though multiple teams are allowed, only one entry can be created for each valid e-mail address and each contestant can win only one of the prizes.

 

Incomplete entries will not be counted and neither Sponsors, their parents, nor their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies, or any telephone network or service providers are responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any Web site or online service, or any other error or malfunction, or late, lost, or misdirected entries. 

 

PRIZES: 

The contest players with the highest point scores will win:

1) First prize (highest score): a $100 American Express gift certificate,

2) Second prize (second highest score): a $50 American Express gift certificate, and,

3) Third prize (third highest score): a $25 American Express gift certificate.

 

Tie-Breaker: Should there be multiple winning entries a random pick of all winning entries will be used to award the prizes.

 

Each time you complete an entry, you will receive another chance to win a prize.  Chances of winning are determined by the number of correct entries. No substitutions, exchanges, refunds or compensation will be made for any reason, including cancellation of the contest. 

 

DRAWING: Winners will be selected on the Tuesday of the week following the Entry Period from the entries received during the Eligible Entry period.  The Sponsors' decisions are final with respect to all aspects of the contest. Prize winners will be notified by telephone only and must provide their e-mail address to verify eligibility.  If the phone number provided is not a working number or no live contact can be made (messages will not be left) within seven (7) days, the next highest scoring entry will be selected.

 

Each winner is required to sign an affidavit of eligibility/publicity and liability release, and return it properly executed, within 14 days of attempted notification as a condition of awarding the prize. If prize notification is returned as undeliverable or the winner fails to return the affidavit and release as specified, the winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected from all eligible winning entries. If, in Sponsors' opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the contest, or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the contest, Sponsors reserve the right to terminate the contest and conduct a random drawing to award the prize using all entries received as of the termination date. Any attempt to deliberately damage the content or operation of this contest is unlawful and subject to legal action by Sponsors or their agents.

 

GENERAL: This contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws. Void where prohibited. The winner agrees that Sponsors, their parents, affiliates and their agencies and their respective officers, employees, managers, agents, successors or assignees shall not be liable for injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participating in this contest or from the acceptance or use of any prize awarded. Sponsors reserve the right to verify eligibility qualifications of any winner. U.S. law governs this contest.

 

WINNERS LIST: For the name of the winners, after January 31, 2007, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Contests @WPNI, P.O. Box 17370, Arlington, VA, 22216-7370, and include the text: “Blitz: College Football Challenge Contest Winners List”. Requests received more than sixty (60) days after January 31, 2007 will not be honored.
