With 1 minute 25 seconds left, no timeouts, 75 yards to go and down by four points Vinny Testaverde put together a game-winning drive, capped by a 39-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Crayton that gave the Dallas Cowboys a 13-10 victory over the Washington Redskins.
Facing third and three at the Washington 39 with 37 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Testaverde (16), from shotgun position, took the snap and dropped back to the 48-yard line. Patrick Crayton (84), who was isolated one-on-one with Shawn Springs (24) at the right sideline, ran a deep fly pattern and Springs released at the 30-yard line, anticipating help from the deep safety. But the help came over too late, as Testaverde threw a perfect pass to Crayton down the right sideline, beating safety Sean Taylor (36) and Springs, and the seventh-round pick caught it in stride for his first career touchdown. -Derrick King
