Your Thoughts on This Year's Kemper
The Kemper is a great tournament, but it lacks the experienced player. It appears to be a great place for first time players to win. A way to improve that is offer the top 5 players an appearance fee to play and watch what happens on the course, then you will see the crowds and excitement grow. Tyrone Ingram
Outstanding week. Everyone who volunteered deserves a pat on the back. Great work! Guys like Tiger Woods and David DuVal are fun to watch, but I like watching the lesser known players scrap it out here. A Cinderella story from outta nowhere, Rich Beem, wins the Kemper and the goodies that go with a PGA Tour win. I love it! Course looked great, the fairways were in super shape. Hats off to the golf course superintendent and staff. They really did a great job with the course. Can't wait until Kemper 2000 Bill Bride
I don't understand why nothing has been written about the job that caddie performed during the final round. What were Beem's thoughts? I thought he would receive a bit more press. Paul Kennington
Once again the average fan has been sold out to big money. The "Skybox" that now takes up the top of the hill between 16, 17, and 18 replaces what used to be a great place to watch for the "grounds only" spectator. It helps keep golf a sport for the rich. Dan Hardy
I think they should hold the event every year on the memorial day weekend. It has never been so easy to get in and out of the TPC club. And contrary to Washington Post attendance figures, it seemed to me that the gallery size was appreciably smaller than years past, which allowed me to view the tournament with a lot less hassle. If the tournament sponsor can live with smaller attendance $$$$, always hold the event on this holiday weekend. Ernie Muliins
This was first time in my life that I attended a golf tournament. I have never had such a wonderful time watching a sport in which both the fans and players have so much respect for one another. The Kemper Open was just spectacular. Daniel
Rich is a very good friend of mine. We've shared many great times on and off the golf course while at New Mexico State together. He's been through alot of ups and downs to get where he is today and I can't be more proud of anyone else in the world. His story will be an inspiration to me and many others for years to come. Way to go "Beem-1"! Brett Gorney
