Hole Diagram

12th Hole Header Graphic

Description: This heavily wooded hole has a dogleg left with Rock Run creek following the left side of the fairway and cutting across in front of the players' second shots. It is another picturesque hole with a very tricky green. No. 12 ranked as the toughest hole on the PGA Tour in 1992.

How Pros Play the Hole: With Rock Run creek in the way, the second shot is obviously the most crucial. It requires a long iron to the green to avoid the water. A ridge runs through the center of the large putting surface. So for a good putt, a player's second shot must find the half of the green with the pin.

Most Troublesome Hazards: Rock Run creek down left and middle of the fairway, and to the right of the green. Ridge in center of the green. Woods on the right.

Toughest Pin Placement: Right side, close to the creek.

Fred Funk's Take: "The best par-4 on the golf course. You've just got to gut it out. It's one of the hardest tee shots. Bail out right, you're laying up. If you pull it a little bit, you're in the creek and then you're dropping in the rough and looking at a double [bogey]. Even if you hit a good tee shot, you've got a green with a hump in the middle of it that kind of divides it like a razorback. It's just a hole that you take four on and get out of there."
