16th Hole Header Graphic

Description: This medium-length par-4 is fairly safe, as long as the players stay out of the deepest bunker on the course, which sits on the left front of the green. Should a player land in this bunker, fans will only see the top of his head as he attempts a sand shot.

How Pros Play the Hole: Most will be hitting 3-woods from the tee box. Second shots will be hit with either 5-, 6- or 7-irons. Birdies are possible on this hole, but players who find the deep bunker will be scrambling just to save par.

Most Troublesome Hazards: Deep bunker on the left front side of the green.

Toughest Pin Placement: Left side and close to the deep bunker.

Fred Funk's Take: "If the hole is downwind, guys aren't hitting drivers because you can hit it too far. Your ball runs through out of fairway. Into the wind, you're trying to get it as far out there as you can, setting yourself up for a really key second shot. There's a real, real deep bunker down there in the front. You're best bet there is to be long, if anything. You just definitely don't want to be short. If you happen to miss the fairway, you're laying up. There's plenty of room to hit the fairway, but don't miss what it gives you."
