TPC at Avenel Hole-by-Hole Guide
How Pros Play the Hole: The real test is not the tee shot but rather the players' second shots. A good second shot hit with a long iron to the right side will open things up for the player on his downhill approach to the green. Most Troublesome Hazards: Bunker tucked in the front left of the green makes the approach shot tricky. Toughest Pin Placement: Left half of the green. Fred Funk's Take: "Really long. Again, you've got to hit the fairway so you can get it far enough down there to have an easy third shot. It very seldom plays enough downwind or short where the fairways are running, and where guys can get home in two [shots]. Every now and then, you can get home in two, but it's a three-shot hole. The key to No. 2 is to get it where you can get yourself set up for a third shot and have a chance at birdie."
