Good Counsel / Sophomore
One year after bursting onto the scene with an unprecedented freshman performance at Metros, Conger continued to bolster his reputation by shattering a pair of meet records for the second year in a row. After sweeping the 50 and 100 freestyle last winter, the 6-foot-4 , two-time All-Met showcased his versatility by setting two more records to win the 200 free and 100 backstroke in automatic all-American marks of 1:39.05 and 48.20, respectively. Conger, who won the 100 and 200 free at the Washington Metropolitan Prep School Swim Dive League championships, also led the Falcons to a victory in the 200 medley relay at Metros with an all-American consideration and Montgomery County record time of 1:35.62.
