Lake Braddock / Senior infielder
The Virginia AAA Northern Region player of the year completed one of the best four-year careers in Bruins history by setting what are believed to be school records for runs, hits, RBI, doubles, homers, walks, batting average and total bases. Headed into the state tournament, he was batting .500 with 35 runs, 25 extra-base hits and 29 RBI. On the mound, he went 7-1 with a 1.87 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 49 innings. The team's record during his four years was 81-21. Will play for Virginia.
P Evan Beal
South County / Sr.
Struck out 89 batters in 65 innings, including 12 in region final, in posting unbeaten record. Will play for South Carolina.
P Will Bouey
Sherwood / Sr.
Went 8-0 with 0.55 ERA. Struck out 81 and walked 15 with four one-hitters as team did not lose in regular season. Will play for Maryland.
P TJ Pipik
Reservoir / Sr.
Went 9-0 with 0.38 ERA. Struck out 71 with only five walks as Gators completed regular season undefeated. Batted .472 with 35 RBI.
P Josh Sborz
McLean / Jr.
In 54 innings, Northern Region pitcher of the year and Virginia commit fanned 94 batters and walked 16.
C Michael Perez
South County / Sr.
Amassed nine home runs and 12 doubles in batting .488 with 19 walks and a team-high 37 RBI. Will play for Old Dominion.
1B Michael Katz
O’Connell / Sr.
Two-time WCAC first-teamer hit. 541 with 19 extra-base hits, 37 RBI and a 1.027 slugging percentage. Will play for William & Mary.
2B Spenser Rositano
Stone Bridge / Sr.
Liberty District player of the year hit .361, stole 10 bases and provided steady leadership. Will play football for Boston College.
SS Chad Carroll
Oakton / Sr.
Concorde player of the year batted .465 with 19 extra-base hits and scored 41 runs. Was 31 for 31 in steals. Will play for James Madison.
SS Nicholas Howard
St. John’s / Sr.
Hit safely in 26 of 30 games, batting .403 with 32 runs and 24 RBI and 16 extra-base hits to lead Cadets to WCAC title. Will play for Virginia.
3B Brent Jones
Severna Park / Sr.
Set multiple school records as Falcons reached Md. 4A final. Batted .488 with 8 2Bs, 11 HRs, 45 RBI and 48 runs. Drew 30 walks.
OF Kory Britton
Atholton / Sr.
Two-way standout batted .458 with 25 runs, 21 RBI, 6 doubles, 6 home runs. On the mound, was 3-1 with 1.45 ERA.
OF Josh Eldridge
Hayfield / Sr.
School offensive record breaker batted .564 with 21 extra-base hits, 34 runs and 31 RBI. Will play for Old Dominion.
OF Luke Willis
Oakton / Sr.
Stole 24 bases, batted .438, hit five homers and drove in 30 runs for Concorde District champions. Will play for Coastal Carolina.
DH Luke Bondurant
South County / Sr.
Had 13 doubles and nine homers, with 32 RBI and a team-high 42 runs scored. Will play for Pitt (N.C.) Comm. Coll.
Coach of the year Jason Gasaway
Quince Orchard
Guided Cougars to an 18-6 record and the Maryland 3A West region title, their sixth state semifinal appearance in his seven seasons at the Darnestown school. Known for having fundamentally sound teams, has a career record of 121-31 and a 2005 state title.
