2011 Spring All-Met

Girls' Track and Field

Alexis Franklin

Old Mill / Junior

Franklin personified hard work and dedication, lowering the spectacular times she ran last year. The 17-year-old was second in the 400 hurdles at the Penn Relays in 59.07 seconds, fastest by a U.S. girl this season. At the Maryland state championships, she owned the fastest time of the day in the 100 hurdles (4A-record 13.89) and 300 hurdles (43.41) and was second fastest in the 400 (54.26). Her best times came at the 4A East region where Franklin dominated the high hurdles (13.70), intermediate hurdles (42.54) and the 400 (53.82).
