2011 Fall All-Met

Girls' cross-country

Sophie Chase

Lake Braddock / Junior

Chase was the standard for excellence and championship distance running in the Washington area, finishing undefeated against area competition. She became a two-time Foot Locker finalist after placing second in the South region in a personal-best 17:06, third fastest ever on that course by a Virginian. One week after winning the Northern Region title in 16:53 -- that time made Chase the sixth-best performer all-time on the three-mile Burke Lake Park course -- the 17-year-old ran a course record of 17:33 to win the Virginia AAA championship.
