Runner of the Year
Karen Pulliam, Quince Orchard, Sr.
After winning county and region championships, ran course record (18:51.04) at the 3.0-mile Maryland 4A championship meet. Finished more than 34 seconds ahead of the second-place runner at states.




Coach of the Year
Mike Mangan, Lake Braddock
First-year coach led injury-plagued Bruins to Virginia AAA championship. Team had finished second in Patriot District and fourth in Northern Region. Won three district championships in four years at Langley.



First Team
Randy Buzzell, Middletown, Sr.
Finished fourth at Maryland 2A meet to lead Knights to fourth straight state championship.

Keira Carlstrom, Oakton, Jr.
Claimed Virginia AAA and Concorde District championships; was Northern Region runner-up.

Katie Endres, Potomac Falls, Fr.
Was Region II and Northwestern District champion, Virginia AA runner-up. Personal best: 19:07.

Jemissa Hess, Hylton, Soph.
Northwestern Region and Albemarle Invitational champion finished third at Virginia AAA meet.

Lee McDuff, River Hill, Sr.
Three-time All-Met swept through postseason, winning Howard County, 3A East Region and Maryland 3A titles.

Kelley Otstott, Jefferson, Sr.
Three-time All-Met bounced back from injuries to win Northern Region and take third at Virginia AAA meet.

Kelly Swain, Lake Braddock, Soph.
Patriot District champion finished ninth at Foot Locker South Region meet.
