MF Shannon Karl, Centreville, Sr.
Had eight goals and 17 assists to lead the fourth-ranked Wildcats to a 17-3 record and an appearance in the Virginia AAA quarterfinals. The state's co-player of the year finished her career with 30 goals and 56 assists. Will play for William & Mary next fall.

Jenna Siegel, , Quince Orchard
Took a team that went 5-8 in 1997 and transformed it into a Maryland 4A champion, guiding the Cougars to a 12-2-1 record and a share of their first state title. The Cougars have won 50 games and appeared in four consecutive state tournaments under Siegel, a 1989 Bethesda-Chevy Chase graduate and the first All-Met field hockey player to be named Coach of the Year.

GK Kristin Cousin, South River, Sr. Had nine shutouts, 92 saves and a 0.85 goals-against average in leading the Seahawks to an 8-3-2 mark.
D Erin Burns, Broadneck, Sr. An All-Met honorable mention pick last season, Burns anchored a defense that shut out six opponents -- keeping five from even taking a shot -- and registered a 0.92 goals-against average.
D Michelle LaForce, Centreville, Sr. Led the Wildacts' defense to 12 shutouts and a 0.55 goals-against average. She also joined the attack to contribute 12 goals and six assists. Unofficially committed to play for Richmond.
D Meg Palisoul, Whitman, Sr. An All-Met second-team pick last season, Palisoul led the eighth-ranked Vikings to 11 shutouts and an appearance in the Maryland 4A semifinals. She also had 11 assists.
MF Kathleen Miller, St. Stephen's/St. Agnes, Jr. The two-time all-Independent School League midfielder notched 18 goals and 10 assists to lead the top-ranked Saints to an 18-1-2 mark and the league championship. MF Corey Samperton, St. Stephen's/St. Agnes, Sr. A year after transferring from Georgetown Visitation, Samperton dished out 14 assists as the top playmaker on one of the area's most explosive offenses. Will play lacrosse at Notre Dame. F Paula Faherty, Lake Braddock, Sr. Produced 21 assists and four goals to lead the sixth-ranked Bruins to a 12-1 mark. Career: 62 assists (school record) and 19 goals. All-Met defender will play soccer for Illinois. F Katie Field, Quince Orchard, Sr. Scored 15 goals -- two short of the school record -- and had 12 assists to lead the Cougars to a share of the Maryland 4A championship. Honorable mention All-Met last season. F Tyler Leachman, Holton-Arms, Sr. Team captain had an area-leading 26 goals and 10 assists to lead Panthers to a 15-4-1 record and an appearance in the ISL championship game. Will play lacrosse for Virginia. F Shawn Sullivan, McLean, Sr. Sullivan had 11 goals and eight assists to lead the Highlanders to a 12-2 record and an appearance in the Virginia AAA quarterfinals. Two-time all-Northern Region selection. F Emily Swartz, Severna Park, Sr. Notched 16 goals and 12 assists to lead the third-ranked Falcons to a 14-1-1 mark. Had 23 goals and six assists and was named second-team All-Met as a junior.
