Centrowitz was champion of the 4A East Region and became the second female runner to win three consecutive Anne Arundel County championships. Centrowitz also won the Knights Invite and the Doc Jones Invitational. | 
| Coach of the Year | Michael Mahoney, Herndon Mahoney, in his 23rd year at Herndon, led the Hornets to the Virginia AAA championship, the school's first state title in a girls' sport. Herndon won the Concorde District and Northern Region titles and also won the Glory Days Invitational, the Monroe Parker Invitational and the Great Meadows Invitational. | 
First Team Melissa Dewey, Hayfield, Jr. Champion of the Virginia AAA Northern Region and Patriot District meets, Dewey finished third at the state championships. Won Monroe Parker Invitational and Glory Days Invitational. Beth Fahey, Forest Park, Sr. Virginia AAA Northwestern Region and Cardinal District champion was the only area runner-boys or girls-to qualify for the Foot Locker National race. Heather Fisher, Herndon, Sr. The Virginia AAA Concorde District runner-up was fifth in the Northern Region. Took 13th place in the state meet, helping the Hornets claim the team title. Emily Harrison, Warren County, Sr. The two-time All-Met won her first Virginia AA championship this season. Harrison also won the Region II and Northwestern District championships. Kristen Hart, Herndon, Sr. An All-Met in 2001, Hart won this year's Virginia AAA Concorde District championship. Her ninth-place finish at the state meet helped the Hornets to the team championship. Katie Read, Yorktown, Sr. Won the Arlington County and Virginia AAA National District titles and was runner-up in the Northern Region and state championship races. Halsey Sinclair, Blair, Fr. Finished second in the Maryland 4A meet after winning titles at the Montgomery County championship and 4A West Region championship.
