Player of the Year

Matthew Centrowitz | Broadneck | Sr.
The repeat All-Met has won the Maryland 4A, 4A East Region and the Anne Arundel County championships in each of the last three years. He has not lost to another Maryland runner in two seasons and was Maryland's only male runner to qualify for Foot Locker Nationals, finishing fifth at the Northeast Region race in a personal-best 15:23. At nationals, he finished eighth in 15:34. Will run for Oregon.



Coach of the Year

Seann Pelkey | Quince Orchard
A Quince Orchard graduate and a member of its 1993 and 1994 state championship cross-country teams, Pelkey led the Cougars to their first undefeated season. The team won eight meets this year, including five invitationals and a sweep of the postseason. Pelkey ran at Quince Orchard for Jerry Link, the 1992 All-Met Coach of the Year.



First Team

Nick Bax | St. Albans | Jr.
Bax went undefeated against other private school runners and won five of seven races, including the inaugural Battle of the Potomac. His terrific postseason included winning both the Interstate Athletic Conference and the D.C./Maryland Private Schools individual championships.

Thomas Porter | Mountain View | Soph.
Porter had five wins this season, including the AAA Commonwealth District and Northwestern Region championships, which his team also won. He placed third at the state meet and qualifi ed for Foot Locker Nationals by taking 10th at the Foot Locker South meet in a personal-best time of 15:13.

Mike Spooner | West Springfield | Sr.
Capped a stellar career by placing fifth at Foot Locker South in a personal- best 15:06 and 23rd at the national race in San Diego (16:03). Won his second straight Patriot District and Northern Region championships and the AAA title. Will run for Tennessee.

Andrew Revelle | Atholton | Sr.
Revelle won his third Howard County, 2A South Region and 2A state titles. He capped an outstanding career by finishing 16th at the Foot Locker Northeast Region race in a personal-best time of 15:47.

Kelli Thibou | Eleanor Roosevelt | Sr.
Thibou was the Prince George's County and 4A South Region champion and took third at the 4A state meet. He also was second at the inaugural Battle of the Potomac.

Adam Henken | Brentsville | Sr.
Henken was the AA Northwestern District and Region II champion. He was second at the Virginia AA championships, where the Tigers captured their third straight team title, and was the top Virginia finisher at the Great American Cross-Country Festival in Alabama.

Rob Wetzel | Spalding | Sr.
Wetzel finished first in the MIAA championships and was second at the D.C./Maryland Private Schools championships. He also ran a 16:03 at the Bull Run Invitational, coming within three seconds of tying the course record.
