Player of the Year |  Coach of the Year
First-Team  |  Honorable Mention

Player of the Year
Katie Ruckert, Madison, Jr.
Repeat Player of the Year and three-time All-Met. Won second straight Virginia AAA singles title. Ruckert finished the season with a 26-0 singles record and a 20-0 doubles record. Teamed with Mary Kovarik to win the state doubles title. Is 49-1 in singles matches over the past two seasons.



Coach of the Year
Olga Whiteside, Whitman
Third-year coach directed the Vikings to an 11-1 record and their third straight Montgomery County championship. Since Whiteside took over as coach in 1997, Whitman has not lost a Montgomery Division I match.



First Team
Katie Blaszak, Flint Hill, Jr.
Three-time All-Met won the ISL A Division singles title for the third straight year. Won K-Swiss National tournament and was a finalist at Franklin Winter Championships.

Kristen James, Centreville, Soph.
Went 11-0 in regular season, including five straight 10-0 matches. Finished season 20-2 and ranked No. 1 among girls 18-and-under by Mid-Atlantic Tennis Association.

Laura James, Centreville, Sr.
Four-time All-Met won fourth straight Virginia AAA Concorde District singles and doubles titles last fall. The Virginia signee finished with a 98-5 career record.

Mary Kovarik, Madison, Jr.
District, regional and state singles runner-up finished season 22-3. Ranked third by Mid-Atlantic Tennis Association in girls 18-and-under singles.

Diana Pulupa, Walter Johnson, Jr.
Finished season 19-0 and won the Montgomery County and Maryland District II Region singles titles. Was named Montgomery County player of the year.

Kim Strickland, Elizabeth Seton, Sr.
Finished season unbeaten and won the Maryland Outdoor singles championship. Howard signee has a 46-0 record in high school career.
